We all know grocery shopping is so expensive!! It is a huge bulk of your monthly money but it also means it’s a great opportunity to save lots of money too! Here are my top tips for how to feed your family on a budget and cut your grocery bill in half!

How To Feed Your Family On A Budget
Take an inventory – Know all the food you have in your cupboards, freezer and fridge.
Go late in the day to take advantage of the yellow sticker deals.
Meal plan, we all know how much of an advocate I am for this, it saves me hundreds!
Cook from scratch as much as you can, this is often healthier too!
Bulking out meals with cheaper ingredients can help stretch them for longer – lentils, chickpeas, grated carrot and frozen veg can really help with costs.
Best before dates – There’s a difference between use by & best before dates. I usually ignore them all and rely on sense of smell and look to see if they are ok – I often eat veg that is past it’s BBE by weeks as it’s still fresh.
Don’t buy pre-packaged and pre-weighed food – often it’s much more expensive so check the price p/kg.
Be more careful with meat/dairy – use common sense here. And freeze if you’re not going to eat it in time!
Know your prices!! This will help you know when a good deal is a good deal!
