This week both the boys have been really poorly. First came a sickness bug and next a bad cold. Yesterday we were due to do some decorating to finish off the living room for our beautiful new sofa’s arrival, but I decided to take the boys out for some fresh air while Stuart got on with the painting without the stress of 2 “little helpers”.

We headed to Warnford, deep in the Meon Valley. The village where my mother grew up and I spent many happy days visiting my dearest Nanny. Each year they hold 3 weekends of Snowdrop walks around the 1300 year old church, Our Lady Of Warnford, where most of my family are laid to rest. We wrapped up warm and headed out to enjoy the annual show of nature’s pretty white display. It always marks the beginning of spring for me, although this particular day it felt like we were in the depths of winter with temperatures dipping to freezing.

Sadly it seemed as though it was just a little bit much for George, his cold, the lack of sleep caused by said cold and most of all the cold! I love this photo because it totally sums up how he felt about the whole thing! In fact, he spent the entire way round crying his little heart out!
I also love this photo, because he was still crying his head off and I am trying so hard to win him round! He’s nothing if not strong willed, that boy of mine.

Henry was a great big brother, letting George have his moment and just getting on with exploring. It’s so nice to bring my own children back here and not forget about this pretty little village which is so special to me.
