If you’re looking for beautiful food with stunning backdrops you will not go wrong in Dubai, in fact the vast choice on offer can be overwhelming. I’ve just spent the past 4 days eating my way around Dubai and I wanted to share with you 3 of the best restaurants we found for fresh fish and sushi in the Dubai Marina area.

– ZENGO –
Located within the stylish & sleek Le Royal Meridien hotel, Zengo overlooks the beautiful Arabian gulf and offers Asian tastes and styles from a beautifully constructed and intricately designed menu. The restaurant itself is contemporary yet earthy, mixing structured metal with natural materials such as paper and wood, fusing together modern with traditional.

The restaurant boasts many intriguing views for feasting ones eyes upon such as the skilful crafts of the sushi masters or Robata chefs; all producing beautiful edible creations. Or you can choose to sit at one of the three bars and enjoy a hand muddled signature cocktail whist taking in the atmosphere.

We started with a mixture of sashimi and sushi which was absolutely stunning and melted in the mouth. Our sashimi was served in this beautiful, handmade ice sculpture and decorated with petals which was a real work of art and was delicious as it looks.

We chose to dine out on the terrace to soak up the balmy evening atmosphere and the view across the sea. Our evening and meal was thoroughly enjoyable and I wish we could eat it all over again! Take a look at Zengo for more details.

– The Maine Oyster Bar & Grill –
It is no surprise whatsoever that Maine has won numerous awards for best restaurant newcomer in Dubai. Tucked away in a hotel loading bay on the edge of the marina, The MAINE is a hip Brasserie, free from any pretension and just oozes cool. If you like a Shoreditch beard, a relaxed atmosphere with the odd dancing waiter here and there then you will feel right at home here in this shabby-chic, hipster hideaway.

The quality and variety of the fresh oysters was boundless, all freshly displayed for us. The menu changes seasonally and provides an abundant selection of gourmet seafood including a raw bar & the best shellfish Dubai has to offer, alongside melt in the mouth Filet Mignon & simple yet elegant pasta dishes.
Once you’re finished dining beneath the enchanting chandeliers head to the bar to let the mixologists charm you whilst whipping up a cocktail to sip on out on the alluring terrace before leaving feeling just that little bit cooler than when you arrived.

– Asia Asia –
It’s hard to arrive in to Dubai and not hear about Pier 7; Located in the heart of the Dubai marina, boasting 7 different fine dining, diverse restaurants, you really are spoilt for choice. Head to the sixth floor and step into Asia Asia; a lavish & multiple award winning Restaurant & Lounge which takes its inspiration and design from the ancient Spice Route travelled by traders of old.

Pitch up at the sprawling bar and enjoy a delicately concocted cocktail while you get your bearings in the soothing ambience of Asia Asia; each of the lounges are designed after exotic destinations, such as Thailand, Shanghai, Macau and Kyoto. Intimate booths line the bar area and provide a relaxing hideaway for small parties and groups.

The food is exquisite and described culinarily as where the Far East meets the Middle East. Headed up by Chef Sang Lee who’s international kitchen staff create lavish and indulgent pan-Asian dishes like black cod and truffle dim sum. Keep your eye out for unlimited deals such as Sushi-Saturday and ladies night for food on an epic scale.

The views out onto the marina are absolutely stunning and perfect for enjoying a post meal sake with the warm air cocooning you in an after dinner warm and happy haze as you stare out to the incredible yachts below.
