With the UK lockdown continuing, and Valentine’s Day this weekend, you may be looking for affordable Valentine’s date night at home ideas to help celebrate whilst maintaining restrictions. Although I know Valentine’s might not be for everyone after the last few months (year!) it’s nice to have a reason to celebrate and make each occasion something special.

In 2021 Valentine’s day happens to fall on a Sunday, so hopefully there will be some point over the weekend where you can enjoy some time off and will be able to celebrate date night at home with these ideas on a budget, whether you’re in a relationship or single, spending it alone or with your family.
DATE NIGHT AT HOME IDEAS
Dress up!
Ok, so this is an obvious one! It may sound ridiculous but just wearing something nice will make you feel good after living in loungewear (just me?!) You may have bought something for Christmas or some other occasion that’s been cancelled over the past year so chuck some lippy on, or do your hair and get that nice outfit on – even if you intend on just sitting on the sofa! This will make your date night evening more special than just a regular night.
Dress up your surroundings
Next up to look pretty are your surroundings – Make the area you are living in special to help feel like you’re not just looking at the same 4 walls we’ve been in! Display some Valentine’s balloons or banners or send some balloons to your date or bestie. Balloons make great entertainment for kids as well as a great opportunity for a photoshoot with your kids after!

Throw a magic show
Hire in the professionals at the click of a button! Fizzbox is a great place to find date night at home ideas. For a reasonable price you can get an actual magician over a Zoom call performing tricks for you which you can watch from the comfort of your home. They also do a comedy show for £25 per person for a minimum of ten people where you and your friends can come together on a Zoom call and watch the show with a glass of fizz, a great way to connect with your Galentines!
Inflatable movie night
If you don’t want to spend Valentine’s evening watching the same old TV shows on your sofa like the rest of the year, you can order in an inflatable movie night service to make the moment special. Cosy up outside with blankets, popcorn and sofa snuggles in a totally new and different environment.

Have a virtual DIY date
Don’t worry – no Zoom quizzes here! Getting together with your best friend or girlfriend and having a virtual DIY date is another fun idea.
Order a DIY kit for yourselves, you can even get family involved. It could be something like a DIY biscuit making kit, where you can connect together over a video call and have loads of fun making decorative biscuits and then enjoy eating them as well.
Support your favourite restaurant
Restaurants, like other business, are feeling the strain of the pandemic, so why not support them by ordering a meal from your favourite restaurant that you’ve been missing to your home – No washing up either!

Enjoy healthy non-alcoholic drinks
Bring the bar home, but make it healthy! You can buy non-alcoholic spirits and enjoy them like a regular drink in times you don’t feel like drinking alcohol. Non-alcoholic spirits are having a real moment currently which is great for those trying to feel a little bit healthier at the moment without missing out on joining in with the drinks.
Move rooms
Simply moving into a different room will bring a different perspective to the night. Spend the night in the kitchen or dining room just to do something out of the normal. At the same time, avoid the TV and phones and instead pass the time chatting together or playing indoor games with the kids. Anything to take your mind off from the digital world and try and reconnect together.
Make a couple vision board
A really nice way to connect is to make a vision board with your partner. You can do this by cutting pictures from magazines, newspapers or charts and paste them on your vision board. If you are planning to go on holiday, put pictures of the place you want to go and then visualise the upcoming trip together and get excited together! Or look back over old holiday pics or videos to remember the good times – they will be back again soon!

Love Yourself
Spending Valentine’s alone needn’t mean you can’t feel the love. Take this time when your loved up pals are busy to indulge yourself. Treat your skin to some self-care, starting with a long bath, facemask, hair treatment, takeaway and end with your favourite movie. You could even treat yourself to something special like a new candle, book or custom print for your home.
I hope these budget friendly date night at home ideas will inspire you to celebrate Valentine’s day in a big way even though you may be stuck at home. What date night at home ideas will you be doing this weekend?

I believe that you need to write more about
This issue, it might not be a taboo matter but usually people do not talk about these
